Farm Service Elevator uses 6.5 million bushels of corn to manufacture over 350,000 tons of poultry feed sold primarily to commercial farms and independent poultry growers throughout Minnesota.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

  • Hands on with the mill operations involved in receiving, drying, mixing, load-out and related grain/mill equipment
  • Keeping the mill supplied with ingredients in the most efficient manner
  • Performing house-keeping duties and keeping work environment clean and safe

The Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or completed GED
  • Capable of working independently, manage and prioritize time wisely

Purpose : To provide pick-up and delivery service for LSI and affiliate companies and perform other miscellaneous duties including :

Courier
• Planning and adhering to an efficient schedule that meets the needs of his/her customers
• Picking up and delivering a wide variety of items from all LSI companies and external entities; items include paperwork, small parts, groceries and more.
• Driving a company vehicle, loading and unloading items for delivery
• Delivering daily deposits to several financial institutions
• Picking mail up from the post office daily; including sorting and distributing internally

Light Maintenance
• Performing light building maintenance duties, such as organizing and sweeping the basement or changing light bulbs
• Performing light maintenance of company vehicles as directed, such as checking the oil, refueling the vehicle, ensuring all the lights are in working order, and cleaning the vehicles

The ideal candidate will have a knack for building and vehicle maintenance, an eye for detail, open to a variety of tasks, and enjoy working with others.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs
• Maintain Microsoft Active Directory forest and domains for the company, including DNS and DHCP technologies which integrate into AD
• Ensure all servers have been secured, including patches and local firewalls, and identify any areas of concern that put company data and resources at risk
• Maintain Hyper-V hosts and clusters system wide
• Maintain system applications including Exchange, SQL, Remote Desktop Servers, etc.
• Integrate with cloud technologies including Azure and Office 365
• Build servers and complete projects as required by manager
• Maintain all storage for the organization in all locations, which includes presenting storage to appropriate systems as needed to maintain all data in a redundant method for disaster recovery
• Perform capacity planning to estimate when storage needs to be added or replaced and ensure space is available for systems before it is needed
• Performance tuning to ensure production systems have needed IOPS to work without delay to end users, as well as move stale data to lower-end storage systems to reduce costs
• Perform backups and restores of systems and files as needed, as well as develop a disaster recovery plan
• Apply OS patches and updates on regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
• Automate OS and application patches and updates on a regular basis for workstations and servers
• Automate installation of operating systems and applications for workstations
• Automate collection of hardware and software data from all computers (virtual and physical) for asset management and license auditing in real time
• Manage Virtual Machine Manager to manage all Hyper-V hosts and clusters system wide

The ideal candidate will have the following educational and experience background:

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Systems Administer role
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a variety of qualified technical roles
    • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
    • Proficiency in Microsoft’s portfolio of enterprise platforms including Exchange, SQL, Active Directory, SCCM, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services, Azure, Office 365
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues
    • Able to implement technologies in a seamless manner
    • Background in designing/developing IT systems
    • Minimum of an Associates degree or, certificate in computer science, computer engineering or, related field. BS/BA preferred.

Objective

Customer Support

  • Train internal and external clients on technical aspects of NTE products such as proper use and troubleshooting.

New Product Development

  • Install and support pre-production engineering equipment.

  • Submit timely and valuable feedback to engineering to further product development.

Data Analysis and Management

  • Utilize Customer Relation Management (CRM) Software to record customer events, interactions, and to manage customer information.

  • Gather customers' machine data, generate useful reports, and effectively communicate the information to customers.

Education and Experience Background We Seek:

  • An Associate's level degree is REQUIRED.  A Bachelor's level degree is PREFERRED.

Role Summary:

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

A suitable candidate for a Diagnostic Laboratory Technician would be organized, have excellent communication and time management skills, be detail oriented, and would be familiar with anatomical terminology and basic poultry anatomy/physiology.

We will consider all qualified individuals for the position, but previous experience/education in animal agriculture, veterinary/laboratory technology or poultry is desired, but not required.  Coursework in microbiology is also highly recommended to be successful in this role.

Schedule:

Core hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with flexible weekend hours rotating every 2-3 weekends after a training period.

The Opportunity:  Service Room Team Members

The Willmar, MN Hatchery hatches over 150 Million poults every year!   We have full-time, benefit eligible openings in our Service Room, where poults receive several treatments through automated equipment before they are supplied to our farmers.  These treatments and processes allow our birds to grow optimally and healthy.

Responsibilities of Service Room Team Members:

  • Performing several services on poults (day old baby turkeys) such as: toe/claw treatments, desnooding of beaks using automated robotic machines, counting birds, handling live birds and placing in robotic machines for processes, and removing deceased birds from the area.
  • Will be expected to keep work areas clean and rotate cleaning duties with team members

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to stand up to 2 hours at a time and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be willing to follow important bio-security procedures
  • Will be working closely with other service team members - must respect and get along with coworkers
  • Must be able and willing to handle live poults - baby turkeys
  • Must be able to work through repetition of tasks
  • Reliability is extremely important!
  • Must be willing to work major holidays as needed

Schedule and Wages/Compensation:

  • The hatchery service room operates 4 days/week:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday (NO weekends - Wednesdays we do not hatch)
  • Service Room Team must be able to start at 6:20AM and work until daily production is completed **end times can vary based on hatching cycles
  • Hourly wage plus Benefits eligible include:  Medical Insurance, Dental, Vision, 401K with 4% company match, Disability and Life Insurance paid by company, Holiday pay, PTO accrual eligible, Health Savings Account available to save pre-tax dollars for medical expenses with a company match.

Select Genetics, a poultry company headquartered in Willmar MN, has full-time openings for general laborers at one of our flagship breeder farms located in Starbuck, MN.

Qualified applicants should have agricultural experience or be willing to learn/grow in the field, be able to repetitively lift up to 20 lbs. as well as bend and stoop, work in a fast paced environment, be able to work in the turkey barns assisting other employees for the general care of turkeys.  Ensure adequate feed and water supply, healthy environment, and general light duty maintenance as well as assisting with the cleanliness of the barns and surrounding areas.  Required to follow all site specific bio-security rules.

Service Room Lead - Foley, MN

Select Genetics is a turkey breeding and hatchery business, operating the largest hatchery in the industry and producing over 30 million day-old baby turkeys (“poults”) annually for our customers.

We are currently seeking an individual with the right strengths to the Service Room Lead position - this position adds significant value to our operation. Training and/or related experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee morning set up of Poult Service Room each day
  • Be proficient at and train new employees in Service Room procedures including toe trimming, PSP operation, swamping, Animal Welfare and general operation
  • Support Service Room in daily objective of operating smoothly and efficiently
  • Monitor work flow and direct employees as needed
  • Verify, perform and/or delegate various QC checks and cull pick up
  • Monitor performance standards of Service Room personnel on a regular basis
  • Check daily orders, determine which vaccines & treatments are needed for each
  • Mix and monitor levels of vaccine on PSP machines as needed
  • Assist Supervisor with flock number changes, counts and orders
  • Change needles and clean PSPs at each break
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records of all related servicing equipment
  • Perform light maintenance as required on Service Room equipment
  • Communicate with Maintenance relating to their services needed on equipment and climate control in Service and Poult Holding Rooms
  • Oversee cleaning at end of day, appoint each person to cleaning duty, train or delegate training of new employees in aspects of cleaning
  • Assist with final counts at end of servicing for each day
  • Fill in for Supervisor when needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
