CNC Machinist- Internship 1st or 2nd shift

Nova-Tech Engineering is seeking a machine and tool student for an internship!

Nova-Tech Engineering was founded in 1992 and began as one person’s passion to benefit the agricultural industry.  Through innovative process automation technology, the company engineers and manufactures products that serve over 500 commercial poultry hatcheries in 52 countries worldwide.  Headquartered in Willmar, MN, on the beautiful MinnWest Technology Campus, Nova-Tech Engineering employs over 170 people, in a variety of roles and expertise.

We have a flexible schedule internship opportunity available in our Machine Shop.  We will consider those students that will have completed their first year of a machine and tool program by May of 2018. We operate both manual and Computer Controlled multi-axis lathes and machining centers. 1st shift runs from 5:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday – Friday and 2nd shift runs 2-1:30 AM Monday- Thursday.   Interns will work full time from May-August on either 1st or 2nd shift with potential opportunities to work part time during the school year. Advance your skills with our great team by learning how to:

  • Set up and run horizontal or vertical CNC machines &/or lathes
  • Prepare jobs and the machine tools so that machine operators can run batches in an efficient manner
  • Ability to determine best inspection process and use measuring devices and blue prints
  • Ability to machine prototype parts with minimum supervision and with out formal blue prints
  • Ability to create and troubleshoot CNC programs on machine controls for prototype parts
  • Verifies operations to be performed and materials to be used on each job as directed by the production order or area Leader
  • Ability to select and set up tooling for a new job and trouble shoot tooling issues
