Experience & Education Required:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering degree.
• Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for safely moving, setting up, and operating loading equipment and loading poultry while ensuring bio-security and animal welfare compliance. Scale Operator

Farm Service Elevator has a full-time opportunity in the role of Scale Operator. An Affiliate of Life-Science Innovations, Farm Service Elevator processes 6.5 million bushels of corn to manufacture over 350,000 tons of poultry feed sold primarily to commercial farms and independent poultry growers throughout Minnesota.

The Scale Operator role is responsible for operating the scale in an accurate, efficient manner with superior customer service and managing the quality control of ingredients and finished feed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision, is responsible for weighing and grading inbound and outbound trucks
  • Provides a high level of customer service
  • Responsible for ingredient bin management
  • Obtains ingredient samples at the scale and retrieves finish feed samples from Mill
  • Run NIR samples, complete full tracking of results and send to appropriate personnel
  • Maintains cleanliness of the pits, checking cameras after trucks leave and ensuring they are cleared out and responsible for cleanup of spills throughout the feed mill grounds
  • Assists and guides truckers with liquid and pneumatic drop off.
    •  Check Locks and Relock
    • Helping truckers hook up & direct them where to go
    • Check inventory levels
  • Orientates new drivers with the feed mill processes and policies for unloading ingredients
  • Manages and disposes feed samplings
  • Select routes for ingredients and corn
  • Responsible for SQF logs (Receiving)
  • Enter ingredient loads
  • Taking feed orders
  • Placing feed orders for bin monitoring customers

The Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Customer Service orientation

Job Summary

As Farm Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a staff of up to 15 employees and overseeing the care and well-being of 4,800 turkey breeder toms on a company-owned farm.

Overview

Job responsibilities also include monitoring and adjusting barn environment conditions, maintaining infrastructure and mechanical systems, entering time and attendance, and electronically recording and tracking flock/farm performance. Another key responsibility would be to answer alarm calls and check the farm to make sure it is in top working condition. Biosecurity protocols, animal safety and welfare standards, and good housekeeping practices must be adhered to.

Key responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively manage the day to day operations of the farm, creating and maintaining conditions that result in high quality semen production for the hen farms.
  • Lead, train, motivate, discipline and supervise employees with the objective of building and maintaining a high performing unit to meet or exceed production goals. Ensure the authority and responsibility for each position is defined and understood.
  • Follow and enforce company policies, procedures related to bio-security, animal welfare, and safety; and, all regulatory requirements.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking skills a plus.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience leading and managing employees are preferred.
  • A valid Virginia Driver’s License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record preferred.

We operate both manual and Computer Controlled multi-axis lathes and machining centers. 1st shift runs from 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday – Friday and 2nd shift runs 1:30 PM-12AM Monday- Thursday.   Interns have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule while attending school. Hatchery Service Room Lead – Foley, MN

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee morning set up of Poult Service Room each day
  • Be proficient at and train new employees in Service Room procedures including toe trimming, PSP operation, swamping, Animal Welfare and general operation
  • Support Service Room in daily objective of operating smoothly and efficiently
  • Monitor work flow and direct employees as needed
  • Verify, perform and/or delegate various QC checks and cull pick up
  • Monitor performance standards of Service Room personnel on a regular basis

  • Mix and monitor levels of vaccine on PSP machines as needed
  • Assist Supervisor with flock number changes, counts and orders

  • Perform light maintenance as required on Service Room equipment
  • Communicate with Maintenance relating to their services needed on equipment and climate control in Service and Poult Holding Rooms
  • Oversee cleaning at end of day, appoint each person to cleaning duty, train or delegate training of new employees in aspects of cleaning
  • Assist with final counts at end of servicing for each day
  • Fill in for Supervisor when needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

• Manage Virtual Machine Manager to manage all Hyper-V hosts and clusters system wide

The ideal candidate will have the following educational and experience background:
