Willmar Poultry Farms is seeking a full-time Loader Operator for the Willmar, MN area. An Affiliate of Life-Science Innovations, Willmar Poultry Farms is a commercial grow out company who grows turkeys for various customers, with farms located in the Willmar, MN area.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for safely moving, setting up, and operating loading equipment and loading poultry while ensuring bio-security and animal welfare compliance. Additional responsibilities include washing and sanitizing equipment as well as conducting routine and preventative maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Class a CDL driver’s license preferred; Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
  • Able to obtain a valid DOT health card
  • Be willing to work in animal production conditions and handle live birds
  • Must be capable of bending, pushing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Scale Operator

Farm Service Elevator has a full-time opportunity in the role of Scale Operator. An Affiliate of Life-Science Innovations, Farm Service Elevator processes 6.5 million bushels of corn to manufacture over 350,000 tons of poultry feed sold primarily to commercial farms and independent poultry growers throughout Minnesota.

The Scale Operator role is responsible for operating the scale in an accurate, efficient manner with superior customer service and managing the quality control of ingredients and finished feed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision, is responsible for weighing and grading inbound and outbound trucks
  • Provides a high level of customer service
  • Responsible for ingredient bin management
  • Obtains ingredient samples at the scale and retrieves finish feed samples from Mill
  • Run NIR samples, complete full tracking of results and send to appropriate personnel
  • Maintains cleanliness of the pits, checking cameras after trucks leave and ensuring they are cleared out and responsible for cleanup of spills throughout the feed mill grounds
  • Assists and guides truckers with liquid and pneumatic drop off.
    •  Check Locks and Relock
    • Helping truckers hook up & direct them where to go
    • Check inventory levels
  • Orientates new drivers with the feed mill processes and policies for unloading ingredients
  • Manages and disposes feed samplings
  • Select routes for ingredients and corn
  • Responsible for SQF logs (Receiving)
  • Enter ingredient loads
  • Taking feed orders
  • Placing feed orders for bin monitoring customers

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist role is responsible for performing shipping/receiving functions and placing feed orders in an accurate, efficient manner with superior customer service. In addition, they will champion the Safe Quality Food (SQF) regulations and monitor compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing customers for feed deliveries
  • Placing feed orders for bin monitoring customers

  • Process feed contract trucker payments and ingredient trucker payments
  • Post packing slips for ingredient loads received
  • Record feed cost of sales transactions

Job Summary

As Farm Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a staff of up to 15 employees and overseeing the care and well-being of 4,800 turkey breeder toms on a company-owned farm.

Overview

Job responsibilities also include monitoring and adjusting barn environment conditions, maintaining infrastructure and mechanical systems, entering time and attendance, and electronically recording and tracking flock/farm performance. Another key responsibility would be to answer alarm calls and check the farm to make sure it is in top working condition. Biosecurity protocols, animal safety and welfare standards, and good housekeeping practices must be adhered to.

Key responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively manage the day to day operations of the farm, creating and maintaining conditions that result in high quality semen production for the hen farms.
  • Lead, train, motivate, discipline and supervise employees with the objective of building and maintaining a high performing unit to meet or exceed production goals. Ensure the authority and responsibility for each position is defined and understood.
  • Follow and enforce company policies, procedures related to bio-security, animal welfare, and safety; and, all regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Background We Seek:

  • An Associate’s level degree is REQUIRED.  A Bachelor’s level degree is PREFERRED.
  • A Mechanical/Technical aptitude is highly preferred.

  • Fill in for Supervisor when needed
