The individual fulfilling this full-time opportunity is responsible for performing molecular biology research, utilizing a variety of experimental assays and laboratory techniques. Individual will prioritize tasks, execute experiments and work with a team, providing and presenting results routinely to colleagues. The candidate is expected to rapidly acquire new skills and techniques to apply to current assignments and transfer knowledge by training other team members.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • 1-2+ years of experience conducting research in a molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology-focused laboratory
  • BS or BA Degree or Diploma in Biological Sciences or similar BS or BA Degree or Diploma in Biological or Animal Sciences or Veterinary Technology Degree

Technical Skills & Qualities REQUIRED:

  • Ability to calculate, measure and dispense liquids and solids using a pipet and balance
  • Ability to calculate chemical formulations using molarity and/or concentrations of multiple reagents
  • Familiarity with general laboratory techniques such as pipetting, plating bacterial cultures, serial dilutions, aseptic technique and proper decontamination procedures
  • Experience with molecular biology lab techniques
  • Experience with extraction of DNA and RNA from prokaryotic and eukaryotic tissue
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, the handling of research animals
  • Enthusiasm for researching new solutions and solving problems in a timely and collaborative manner
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with an ability to analyze technical issues and provide effective solutions
  • Capable of multitasking on multiple projects

Technical Skills & Experience PREFERRED:

  • Experience with polymerase chain reaction (PCR/qPCR) and/or isothermal amplification techniques
  • Ability to work with live animals and perform necropsies as needed to monitor research Experience with lab-on-a-chip techniques or sub-microliter fluid transfer and dispensing methods a bonus.

Inventory Clerk

JOB OBJECTIVE STATEMENT

The primary objective of the Inventory Clerk is to provide materials to designated locations as scheduled and/or requested through the Inventory Supervisor. A second objective is to ensure NTE’s inventory is highly accurate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive shipments from suppliers. Unpack, ensure shipment matches purchase order and log into the NTE inventory computer system.
  • Places materials in appropriate locations (Stock Shelves, Lifts, etc)
  • Create kits for production orders
  • Replenish Kan-Ban Bins
  • Fills Parts Requests orders
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, and type, of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment: Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using computer.
  • Creates and posts movement and transfer journals (ex: for Kan Bans, Parts Requests)
  • Assist with periodic Inventory Cycle Counting (to ensure accuracy of the inventory)
  • Notify Inventory Supervisor of discovered inaccuracies
  • Follow all NTE policies, procedures and applicable laws
  • Work overtime as requested by supervisor
  • Recognize and comply with all safety rules. Hearing and Eye protection will be worn when required.
  • Promote continual improvement culture
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES

  • Maintain a high level of physical energy during the work day as the tasks of moving materials from location to location demand this
  • A high level of skill for attention to details is a must since the production scheduling process is highly dependent on the accuracy of inventory.
  • Reading and logistical skills must be strong.
  • Will be required to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends during periodic inventory counting activities.
  • Proactive communication skills and follow through on assignments
  • Demonstrate basic PC skills (ex: e-mail, Inventory Management System)

Mechanical Designer | Drafter
